With its high-capacity 12.8V 7,500mAh LiFePO4 battery, the iVolt Xtra can provide approximately 37 hours of parking-mode operation with a single-channel dash cam or up to 27 hours with a two-channel system, depending on the dash cam and operating conditions.

Extended Parking Surveillance

The iVolt Xtra is designed to keep your Thinkware dash cam powered for significantly longer periods while your vehicle is parked.

While driving, the iVolt Xtra recharges from the vehicle's electrical system. Once the ignition is turned off, the dash cam draws power from the dedicated iVolt battery instead of relying on the vehicle's starter battery for extended parking surveillance.

Thinkware specifies approximately 55 minutes for fast charging or approximately 100 minutes using standard charging.

High-Capacity LiFePO4 Battery

The iVolt Xtra uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery technology, providing a high-capacity power source designed specifically for dash cam parking surveillance.

Installation

The iVolt Xtra is designed for hardwired installation directly to the vehicle's fuse box. It charges while the vehicle is running and supplies power to the dash cam after the vehicle is turned off.

A compatible Thinkware hardwiring cable is required. The hardwiring cable is sold separately unless it is included with the particular dash cam bundle being installed.

For customers purchasing installation from DashCam Source, professional installation is recommended to ensure proper fuse selection, wiring and placement of the battery.

Compatible Thinkware Dash Cams

The iVolt Xtra is compatible with all Thinkware dash cam models, provided the appropriate hardwiring connection is used.

It is particularly well suited to higher-power 2-channel systems and customers who want extended overnight or long-term parking surveillance.

iVolt Xtra vs. iVolt Mini

The iVolt Xtra provides substantially more capacity and longer parking-mode runtime than the iVolt Mini.

Important Installation Information

The iVolt Xtra is a hardwired external battery and should be professionally installed or installed by someone experienced with automotive electrical systems.

The battery must be connected to the vehicle's fuse box for charging. Some electric vehicles may not be compatible if they do not have a conventional fuse-box setup.
